These measures addressed specific operational and regulatory questions before the council moved to later items.
Funding and Service Agreements
In September 2024 the council decided to apply for a $2.5 million state grant under the Rural Workforce Housing Initiative. The application targeted construction of affordable homes priced between $170,000 and $220,000, with any approved funds to be dispersed in January 2025. The council also approved a landfill rate increase effective April 1, 2025, intended to cover rising operational costs and produce approximately $100,000 in additional revenue. Each of these actions addressed separate budget and service needs.
The current consideration of the GIS Maintenance Agreement continues the pattern of evaluating outside support for technical and mapping functions. Records show the council has handled these matters through regular meetings without introducing unrelated external events.
